Canon Pixma MP258 Review
Well, we’d desired that we would’ve liked the Canon PIXMA MP258 (plus personally – that’s, myself – have a thing for Canon printers. Let’s place it at brand loyalty), but we guess objectiveness steaming from the responsibilities of our job would have to blanket over our personal tastes. To get to the point; the MP258 would function as a competent printer, but it’s merely stays barely that. To be harsh, it is just adequate.
One significant thing 1st, however, we are kind of pleased with the design of the MP258. Most all-in-one printers, especially from Canon, can not actually shed a sure bulk to them. The MP258 may not be small, but it is surely slimmer and more streamlined, and takes up less space.
The rest is all criterion Canon. It keeps the simple porcelain-white with black scheme, and the control panel is now assigned to the top. It does the regular indication of the print copies, ink statuses and paper type, with the quick copy and scan buttons under it. What’s fresh is a fit-to-page button and a more advanced setting for its quick-scan features.
When it comes to printing, the MP258 treats itself fine, but there is something to be said about the print quality. Monochrome printing is elementary, with an acceptable 7 page per minute speed (this is a photo printer, mind), but when we began printing photos on shiny photo papers, it falls just under par. The colors tend to mellow, and images finish looking paler. Thankfully they are sharp and clear enough, but we frankly expected better.
Scanning is otherwise a good function, and the new dedicated scan keys help things out. But apart from the MP258 truly offers nothing over what its predecessors have already presented in a nutshell, it just offers enough to function as a serviceable printer and left it at that.
If you are in need of an all-in-one that’s cheaper, compact and can confirm simple printing needs, the MP258 is serviceable enough, but it’s fairly unsatisfying print quality and sheer lack of conception does not differ it from anything else in the market. You can do better elsewhere.
